After successfully completing this course, the participants will be eligible to become an Occupational Hearing Conservationist (OHC) with the following abilities:
Conduct valid hearing tests
Check performance and maintain hearing test equipment
Provide employee training/education
Properly fit & troubleshoot hearing protection
Understand State & Federal regulations
Participate on a hearing conservation team
Comprehend basic principles of noise measurement & control

Noise Dosimetry Surveys / Industrial Hygiene

 
    deviceHCI's Certified Industrial Hygienists (CIH) conduct noise dosimetry and plant mapping using the latest equipment to identify and measure employee noise exposure. HCI provides a written report naming the individuals monitored, their occupational classification and work activities, maximum and peak noise levels, percent dose, and 8-hour time-weighted average. The HCI report includes recommendations for noise control, and an evaluation of results are compared to OSHA and applicable state and federal regulations.

Additional Industrial Hygiene services are available to include air sampling, engineering controls, industrial hygiene and safety program audits with written recommendations as appropriate.
